Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what 521.chat collects, why, and what control you have. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don’t sell your data, and you can delete your account yourself at any time.
1. What we collect
- Account data. Your email address (used to sign in with one-time codes — we never store a password), your chosen username and display name, and your profile details (photo, bio) if you add them.
- Content you create. Messages, photos, voice notes, and video you send or upload. Voice notes can be transcribed on request (yours or the other participant’s) to display subtitles; transcripts are stored with the message.
- Purchase records. Purchases, gifts, and call history, kept in an immutable ledger. Payment card or wallet details are handled by our payment processors and never touch our servers.
- Technical data. Device and session information (IP address, browser type, sign-in times) for security, and error reports so we can fix crashes.
2. What we use it for
Running the service: delivering messages and calls, processing purchases, showing you your history, sending the notifications you enable, preventing fraud and abuse, and meeting legal obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your private messages for advertising.
3. Who can see what
- People you talk to see the content you send them, your display name, username, and profile.
- Member pages are visible only to the signed-in community, and we never confirm to outsiders whether an account exists.
- Our staff access private content only when required to review a report, investigate fraud, or comply with law.
- Service providers process data on our behalf under contract: cloud hosting and storage, payment processing, push notification delivery, speech-to-text and translation (for the subtitles and translate features), and error monitoring.
4. Retention and deletion
You can delete your account yourself in Settings → Delete account. Deletion signs you out everywhere, removes your profile, and permanently disconnects your email from the account. Messages you sent remain visible to their recipients (as with any messenger), and purchase records are retained as required by financial regulation. Any unused purchased balance is forfeited on deletion. Some minimal records may be retained where the law requires it.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Use the in-product tools (Settings covers most of it — including a full transaction export) or contact us and we’ll help.
6. Age requirement
521.chat is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use it. We remove underage accounts on discovery.
7. Changes and contact
We’ll update this page when our practices change and adjust the date above. Questions or requests: privacy@gfe.live.
